Jaeger LeCoultre Master Mariner with Gay Freres Bracelet

Description:

An all original Jaeger LeCoultre Master Mariner from 1968. The brand intended for this model to be for the sea fairing folk hence the Master Mariner. The watch is housing the in house Jaeger LeCoultre Cal K883 Automatic movement. The watch has a fair amount of wear to the case from general use but nothing major. The watch comes with its original Gay Freres bracelet that is well used so quite stretched. The watch was given for years of service from a steel company Iscor for 35 years of service, hence the engraving on the back. The watch is running but manually winding is a bit stiff. The watch is very unique with a two tone dial that shifts tones in difference angles of light. What else is unique is the name Jaeger LeCoultre at the 9 o’clock position instead of the conventional 12 o’clock position. This is a really unique piece for any Jaeger collector.

Dial:

The dial is near mint with slight spots and is very unique with a two tone dial, split by a vertical line down the center of the dial. The Hour, Minute and Seconds hands are silver in color with the Hour and Minute hands having luminous compound. The hour markers are silver in color. There is a date window at the 3 o’clock position.
