WWII 1942 Military Pilot Watch 6B/234

Description:

Its not often you come across military watches in great condition, especially ones that saw the front lines from above, on the wrist of a pilot. Looking at the caseback, A.M. stands for Air Ministry, 6B/234 was designated for pilot watches, 3099 is this watch serial number and 42 stands for the year 1942. The dial is in fantastic condition for its age with light marks but still crisp and shark hour markers which was a must for pilots. Housing a manual wind FHF Cal 30 movement with central seconds. The case is made by Dennison, one of, if not the best case manufacturer from the UK. To have a piece of history that has survived the harshness of war is astonishing and this is truly a very collectible piece.

Dial:

The dial is egg shell white with printed hour markers and minute track. All the hands are flame blued but we suspect that the seconds hand, although also blued, may have been replaced.
