Omega Geneve Automatic ‘Stingray’ Ref 166.121
Description:
A quite unique looking vintage Omega from 1972 that got the nickname “Stingray” from its odd shape. The case is not the only unique thing about the watch as it has a very 3D dial with cuts and grooves to how the hour markers. The watch has its original Omega crown and Omega etched glass (which has a hairline crack at 10 o’clock). The caseback has some rather nasty scratches but at least that is at the back of the watch and the front still displays in awesome sun burst brush finish. The watch is fitted with a brand new blue textured rubber strap. This is a fantastic birth year watch that is also unique looking for those who don’t want to fit in with the crowd
Dial:
The dial is silver in color with a sun burst finish. There is a two tone inner bezel with a blue grey around the inner circumference and silver round the outside. There are grooves cut into the bezel with drop of lume to signify the hour markers. The Hour, Minute and Seconds hands are silver in color with the Hour and Minute hands having luminous compound. There is a date window at 3 o’clock. There is a spot on the dial at the end of the “automatic” and a few slight scratches.
