This is probably one of the most honest Rolex watches that you’ll come across from this period. This little Rolex to my knowledge is all original with even the original glass that has now faded to a yellow. The glass is incredibly thick for acrylic. The other aspect that makes this little Rolex so unique is the dial. The two tone quarter dial brings quite a bit of character along with the yellowed glass really bringing the watch to life. The dial has honest aging with the lacquer starting to come off and with a bit of the print disappearing with it. One very intriguing part of the dial is the faded text below the SWISS MADE text, reading IMPORTE DE SUISSE. This is very unusual and appears to be quite scarce. I do not know the reason behind the text but it does make the watch that much more unique. This watch will be a perfect addition to any Rolex collectors collection and will definitely be a talking point.

This watch is 84 years old and has seen a lot of use so it is to be expected that there are small marks, dents but this adds to the watches character, the journey that it has lived. Due to its rather small size I have put it on a bund strap to make wearing it on the wrist not too small but I know that this is not to every ones tastes but I think it suits it quite nicely.

Dial:

The dial is silver colored two tone quarter dial with the hour markers painted with black Arabic numerals. The Hour, Minute and Seconds hands are blued and catch the light quite nicely. The SWISS MADE text at the bottom is starting to fade with more text underneath, also fading, stating IMPORTE DE SUISSE. There is a minute track printed around the circumference of the dial. The seconds are a depressed subdial at the 6 o’clock position.
